Joining
the MFG
Is
your institution interested in joining the MFG? Great. Zoos, aquariums
and conservation organizations are invited to become partners
in our work. Currently, 39 institutions
support the MFG and its conservation projects.
MFG member zoos and their staffs can become involved both in Madagascar
and at their home organization. Prior to that, the most fundamental
avenue of involvement is mundane but crucial - members support
the MFG's programs by paying annual membership dues. The Founder
level annual dues amount to $10,000 per member. The basic costs
to run Ivoloina are $60,000 and the same amount is needed to manage
Betampona at a basic level. To cover these costs and expand our
work at both Ivoloina and Betampona,
more institutions are invited to join the MFG, either as Founders,
Supporters, or Contributors. It is the financial commitment of
our members which has allowed the MFG to maintain a strong and
continuous presence in Madagascar, and this has given credibility
and reliability to our programs. Nearly 100% of the membership
dues are spent directly in Madagascar, because the St. Louis
Zoo, where the MFG is headquartered, coordinates all activities
and provides office and operational support.
MFG
member institutions agree to adhere to the bylaws
of the Madagascar Fauna Group.
Dues
levels range from the $10,000 founder level to $1000 annually. To
